  • Unit 4 8-12 Stafford Street Midland, WA, 6056 Australia (map)

A City of Swan workshop

Save yourself hours of figuring it all out by yourself, and learn alongside an Authorised Squarespace Trainer.

Is your website doing its job?

Having a great website that is laid out correctly and works as a sales tool is absolutely essential for making sales in your business. It doesn’t matter how much money and energy you put into the top of your sales funnel to gather interest in what you’re selling, if your website doesn’t seal the deal and convert that interest into ‘Oo - yes! That’s what I need to spend my hard-earned cash on!’ then that time and money is wasted.

"That'll do" isn't good enough if you're serious about making sales. Learn how to put a great website together alongside a website professional, and save yourself the stress of having to figure it all out by yourself.

After doing a loooooootttt of research, we think that Squarespace is the best build-it-yourself platform out there (more about that below). Whilst Squarespace is pretty easy to use and update yourself, getting started and learning it all from scratch can be a challenge.

Short-cut that process and get your website RIGHT by learning alongside a Squarespace expert in a friendly, easy-to-follow workshop. We’ll go through these, and more:

  • How to start your Squarespace account and which template to choose

  • How Squarespace works and the basics of adding images, text, pages and sections

  • Designing your all-important Home page with our tried and tested template that WORKS.

  • How to design a simple Coming Soon page that you could have ready to go live by the end of the workshop!

  • Adding hyperlinks to images, text and ‘find out more’ buttons

  • Adding your own brand colours and fonts to your website

  • Checking mobile compatibility

  • Some basic SEO pointers for getting your website seen on Google

  • Connecting up your domain name and social media accounts

  • How to get 20% off the cost of your website for a year, and up to 6 months’ trial/building time

This workshop is funded by the City of Swan, and will be in-person at the Stafford Court in Midland.

So - why Squarespace?

  1. It’s one of the easiest build-your-own programs out there

  2. It’s a powerhouse with Google - they were the first platform to integrate with Google and having a Squarespace Commerce website automatically pushes you higher in Google rankings.

  3. It’s incredible value for money being a high quality platform that starts from as little as $13/month

  4. There’s no hidden extras to do simple things like remove their branding from your site, add in an SSL (security certificate) or add different options to products in your store. It’s one simple monthly (or yearly) price, depending on the level of payments/ecommerce that you need your website to perform

  5. Marketing tools (such as a Pop-up or Insta feed), hosting and automatic mobile-friendly conversation is all included without having to add ‘plug-ins’ or custom coding

Final notes

  • In this workshop, we’re not going in to detail about adding a shop, booking system or membership subscription. These could all be additional workshops themselves and aren’t relevant for everyone.

  • You’ll need to bring your laptop with you to be able to play along. Whilst you can update your Squarespace site on your mobile or tablet (their app is amazingly easy to use!), you’ll need a laptop for building your website.
